GOLDEN RULES N°3
COLLECTIVE PROTECTION
> Never disable equipment guardrails, locks and safety systems.
> Never work on equipment where guardrails, safety interlocks or other systems have been disabled or removed. Report any defective guardrails or systems as soon as possible and implement a temporary measure (e.g., marking).
> Always obtain permission before removing or modifying a guardrail or safety system.
> Ensure that all guardrails and safety systems have been reinstalled after maintenance.
It is forbidden to remove an EPC, unless it hinders the smooth running of the intervention. In this case, it must be accompanied by new protective measures. Example: maintenance must remove a guardrail to gain access to an engine, the guardrail protects against falls.
Here the risk of falling is therefore aggravated by the removal of this guardrail so the mechanic must for example wear his harness to reduce this risk of falling. In order to assess the risk, the LMRA
must be carried out with the start of your work.
